Hi, my name is
Akhil K.
I build scalable web platforms for enterprise and commerce
Senior frontend engineer with 8+ years building scalable web platforms for enterprise and commerce products. Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and Node.js, with a strong focus on frontend architecture, design systems, and API integration patterns.

01.About Me
I'm a Senior Frontend Engineer with 8+ years building scalable web platforms for enterprise and commerce products. I specialize in React, TypeScript, and Node.js, with a strong focus on frontend architecture, design systems, and API integration patterns.
I'm experienced in leading teams, defining engineering standards, and designing systems that scale across distributed teams. Whether it's architecting a multi-team commerce platform, building middleware layers, or establishing shared component libraries, I focus on solutions that balance speed with long-term maintainability.
My key focus areas include frontend architecture, commerce platforms (Shopify, Magento), design systems, and building scalable web applications. I'm comfortable working across the full stack and making architectural decisions that impact entire engineering organizations.

Featured Project
SvgIn-React Library
An open-source React library for securely fetching and inlining untrusted SVGs as components, working in client, server, and RSC contexts. SVG markup is sanitized with DOMPurify by default, dynamically imported so it never ships in the bundle unless it's actually used. Separate client, server, and core entry points keep the package tree-shakeable, and the whole API is TypeScript-first.
- ▹Built a security-first sanitization layer using DOMPurify
- ▹Split the package into client, server, and core entry points for tree-shaking
- ▹Designed a TypeScript-first API with full type coverage
- ▹Added in-memory caching and a preload API to cut redundant fetches
- React
- TypeScript
- DOMPurify
- tsup
- Node.js

04.Currently Building
Grand Tour
A Next.js travel app that turns a trip idea into an AI-generated route on an interactive Leaflet map. Guests get no database at all, plans live in localStorage, and shared trips are stored as TTL-based links in Upstash Redis. The free tier limit is enforced at three separate layers so it can't be bypassed from the client.
- Next.js
- TypeScript
- Leaflet
- Upstash Redis
- Tailwind CSS
StoreBridge
A Shopify embedded app for bulk migrating and syncing store data across multiple Shopify stores. Built on Shopify's Bulk Operations API, with Redis as the sole persistence layer instead of a traditional database.
- Shopify App
- React
- Redis
- Bulk Operations API
localVend
A local-seller e-commerce platform for plants, produce, and poultry vendors. Next.js on the frontend, a NestJS, Prisma, GraphQL, and Postgres backend, plus a separate admin dashboard secured with dual JWT auth for regular users and admin users.
- Next.js
- NestJS
- Prisma
- GraphQL
- PostgreSQL
UK Visa Sponsor Search
A Next.js app for searching the UK's Skilled Worker sponsor license list, with Cognito-backed hosted login, Algolia-powered search and filtering, and an admin flow for uploading and deduplicating sponsor data from CSV.
- Next.js
- Cognito
- Algolia
- Redis
05.Experience
Lead Experience Engineer @ Publicis Sapient
Jun 2023 — Present
Remote, India
Joined through Corra, acquired by Publicis Sapient in June 2023
- ▹Designed the frontend architecture for a multi-team commerce platform built with React, Next.js, and TypeScript — supporting multiple storefronts and used across 5+ parallel engineering teams.
- ▹Built a microservice-based middleware layer in Node.js that sits between Shopify APIs and the frontend, decoupling platform logic and enabling teams to evolve independently.
- ▹Defined shared component library and design system standards that reduced UI duplication across teams and accelerated feature delivery across multiple storefront applications.
- ▹Defined consistent integration patterns for REST and GraphQL APIs, simplifying data flow and improving maintainability across services.
- ▹Led architecture reviews and set engineering standards that improved code quality and long-term platform stability.
- ▹Mentored 4+ frontend engineers and led architectural reviews across multiple teams, raising the overall quality of frontend engineering practices.
- ▹Collaborated with backend, DevOps, and product teams to align system boundaries, API contracts, and deployment workflows.
Frontend Lead @ Corra
Jan 2022 — May 2023
Remote, India
- ▹Led frontend development for enterprise commerce platforms serving multiple brands across a shared React codebase.
- ▹Designed a BFF (Backend-for-Frontend) integration layer that simplified communication between the frontend and legacy backend systems.
- ▹Built a multi-brand theming architecture that allowed independent storefronts to share core platform logic without code duplication.
- ▹Defined API contracts and deployment workflows in collaboration with backend and DevOps teams.
- ▹Contributed to architectural decisions for modernizing legacy frontend systems, balancing delivery timelines with sustainable architecture.
Full Stack Developer @ Bititude Technologies
Aug 2017 — Dec 2021
